Tips for Taking Good Car Pictures
By
Wes Odum
Choose the Right Time
There is time for everything, and this goes for taking car pictures. One common mistake is taking pictures in the middle of the day. The middle of the day is characterized by harsh sunlight, which is bad for taking professional car pictures. While sunlight is good for giving your pictures some sense of lighting, too much can ruin your work.
Like taking any other picture, the best time of the day to take automobile pictures is shortly (a few minutes) before sunset or shortly after sunrise. There is no direct sun this time, and the light is soft and decent enough to give a perfect shot.
Avoid Reflections
Reflections can ruin your automobile shots, and you must avoid them. You want your pictures to show every detail of the car, such as the design lines, but reelections won't let you achieve that. Hence, before taking those shots, check to see if any object is reflecting on the car's surface.
You will likely face this challenge when taking car pictures in front of trees or buildings. Taking your shots with objects like these will cause some reflection on the car's surface, especially taking pictures of new, shiny cars. The best way to fix this is to change the car's location, and if you do not have the opportunity, getting down may help.
Choose a Good Background
Choosing a good background is also important in taking good car pictures. While a beautiful background will add a perfect finishing touch to your photo, a bad background will ruin your job.
Choosing a good background can be challenging as you might be confused about what to consider a good background. A good background is cool with no distraction and complements the image in the picture.
Examples of a bad photograph background include taking the picture with other cars, a dustbin, or people behind the target car. This simple act can steal the beauty of your photos.
Of course, you can perfect the background in Photoshop, but it makes sense to avoid background distractions in the first place.
