2018 Audi S5

Accomplishing My Dream Cars. I’ve always loved cars. Pictures of cars were on my bed sheets, on the calendar on my wall, and on my clothes. My whole life has been centered around cars. When my Mom and I used to go grocery shopping, I never liked going along because it was boring. But on some special occasions, mom said she would take me to the Hot Wheels section in the store if I was good the whole time. Whenever she said that, I was delighted. I would behave like a perfect child until it came time to view the things that excited me most. Sometimes, if I got more lucky, my mom would buy me one too. ` Those little Hot Wheels sparked in me a passion for collecting model cars, and learning everything I could about the ones I had. One key figure in my life, who helped my love for cars, was my Grandpa on my Dad’s side. He had so many cars in his lifetime, and he told me about them in detail. I loved listening to the stories he told about the cars he owned, from driving fast with his brothers, to how he knew all the people at the dealerships. He knew vintage cars inside and out, but he didn’t mind listening to me talk about newer cars. The two cars that he’s owned during my lifetime are a 1992 Lexus LS400 and a 1994 Mazda Miata MX-5. My Grandpa has a vascular non-cancerous tumor, which has affected his speech, his balance, and his ability to drive. He’s never been able to drive me around, and show me around the dealerships in his area, so my Dad is the one who first drove me in the Miata. Riding in his sports car really brought my love of cars to life. One way I sought to show my love for my Grandpa was to one day get an exotic car and drive him around in it. Everyone told me, “You’ll get one of those cars when you’re a lot older in life, definitely not soon”, and, “How are you going to afford that anytime soon? You’re just a teenager”. I prayed about it a lot, begging God to allow me to live out this dream before it was too late. I had no idea if or when I would be able to accomplish that dream I was so feverishly chasing. God answered my prayers through my Dad, who generously assisted me financially by helping me buy a 2018 Audi S5. This was it. This was the moment I had been longing for since I could first remember. My family decided to go down to South Carolina, where my Dad grew up, to visit my grandparents. Excitement was in the air throughout the journey there. When we finally arrived, I ran inside and greeted my Grandparents. My Grandpa’s first question was, “Did you bring your car?” I replied with a grin, “It's outside.” We slowly walked over to their glass door which faces the driveway, and he looked at the car, then me, and told me “That’s a beautiful car.” I looked at him and asked, “Would you want to go for a ride?” to which he replied, “Sure!” Words cannot describe how I felt walking to the car, and watching him admire it. We drove around the city, and then took it on some back roads, where I could truly show him the acceleration of the car. Throughout the drive, I kept looking over at him, savoring the moment. I wished it could never end. Tears welled up in my eyes when he said, “This is a pretty awesome car, Lewis.” When we finished the drive, and we got out of the car, I thanked God for helping me to finally accomplish my dream.
